Mall madness...

When it comes to shopping for myself I am so good at putting things back and realizing I don't really NEED them and sometimes when I do (which semi-explains my awesome post- pregnancy wardrobe of sweatsuits and Uggs). In fact I pride myself in being quite the smart shopper. My favorite thing to do when I get home from a day of shopping is to dump out my bags and tell Dave..."hey, look...see all of this? Yeah, I only paid $23.50 for all of it." Love to impress the hubby with my bargain hunting ways. At least he acts impressed-good enough for me! I always look for free shipping codes when shopping online (I'll even try 6 different ones to find out which saves me the most), use coupons at Shoprite and go straight for the clearance racks everywhere I go.

However, most of this goes out the window when I shop for my kids. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not shopping at boutiques in Manhattan and plunking down money I don't have on overpriced clothes. It's more like H&M, Carter's and the occasional Baby Gap run. I just get a little foggy in the kids stores. I keep reminding myself that Camryn does not NEED a third pink sweater, Gavin doesn't NEED another shirt with a cute saying on it and no nine month old needs 5 pairs of shoes. Yeah, doesn't work.

Yesterday we met some new friends Melaine and Sophia out at the mall. Sophia is a month younger than my two and the three together were mistaken for triplets at one point:) The 3 babies were troopers as us Mommies went into a bunch of stores looking for more clothes for them. Sophia got so tired from it all that she finally gave up and passed out for a nice nap. My two liked looking around at all the exciting things the mall has to offer (strange people! garbage cans! signs! Giant Chick-fil-A cow!). They were quite well behaved and I must say I was impressed. Makes me slightly less worried about the inevitably frequent mall trips over the long, cold NJ winter. Although, they can be tricking me. They have been known to gang up on Mommy.

In the end I bought more than I planned on (big shocker!) but it's all adorable of course. I did somehow manage to put a few things back..fog and all. Now I'm slightly less sad to see summer go since fall means seeing them in the cute stuff I've been stashing away.

It was so nice to finally meet Melaine and Sophia and we hope to see them again soon!

They look so cute together! Glad you had fun! I'm preparing myself for many mall trips this winter too. Maybe the three of us can scare everyone away with our FIVE children! lol
