First Cut...

Geez..it's about time! I've been walking around with hair almost hanging into my eyes for quite a while now. I keep hearing Mommy say "we REALLY need to get his hair cut." Um, yeah, ya THINK?!

As we left this morning I was wondering what it would be like. I was really hoping for a lollipop. Ever since that time I tried one at the doctor I've been waiting for another. Camryn and I enjoyed the ride there and I chatted on my cell. I said "hi" about 350 times into it on the 10 minute ride.

Once we were there things looked OK. I noticed some TV's ( I wonder if this place has great taste and shows Gabba episodes?), some toys and a bunch of little vehicles to sit in (I suppose to distract me). All of that stuff was cool and all but I was really just wanting a lollipop. Well, SCORE...there was a big 'ol bowl of them on the counter. Mommy got one for me and in the fire truck I went.

Now I can't lie. I'm not a fan of strangers. This lady looked nice enough, but I mean come on...scissors?! Those things are dangerous. How am I supposed to know if she's been trained with them? She started with a comb and I wasn't a fan of that either. I decided to cry. Why not..maybe it would get me something cool. It worked! Before I could shed another tear my smart Daddy gave me his cell phone. By this point I couldn't care less about the lollipop and had moved on to calling China.

I decided to comply and let Michele cut my hair. At least now I knew her name and she did say I was cute. Things were going quite well until I heard this buzzzzzzzzzzzzing noise. What the HECK was that thing? I still have no idea. All I know is that I made sure to cry (and try to escape) when she used it. I was nice enough to stay still for the scissors, but come on people.

It was over soon enough and she turned me to check myself out in the mirror. Wow was it worth it! I must say I look pretty handsome. I thought I got attention at the mall before..just WAIT until the next time!

Mommy and Daddy let me have my lollipop back (since they ripped the cell phone from my poor, sad fingers) and Camryn got one, too. I don't know why since she didn't have to brave anything, but I guess she was supportive at least. They gave us a certificate with a lock of my hair for Mommy to keep and cry over when I'm in college. Here's some pictures of my adventure.

This was this morning at breakfast:

During (yeah, I know, maybe the crying was a little much..leave me alone!):

And my handsome self once we got home:

I would also like to give a shout out to my Grandma because today is her Birthday. She came over with Grandpa for ice cream cake (yummmmmy!). Happy Birthday Grandma...we love you!!!

Gavin's account of his first haircut is hilarious, except for the crying part. As a Grandma, I'm entitled to feel sorry whenever G or C cries. Bet he thought it was all worth it when he saw how handsome he looked at the end (the lollipop didn't hurt either)! I think he wanted to look nice for my birthday. Loved the shout-out, Gavin, and celebrating with all of you. Will always remember your 1st haircut day!
