Just beachy...

For those of you who don't live here, NJ has been insanely warm for the past few days. Ninety degrees in April is not the norm around here and it's been a nice change from chilly rain (although I can't say I'm totally ready for this weather to stay quite yet!). To take advantage of another warm day my Mom and I took the kids for a ride down to the beach and boardwalk for the morning.

Once we got there we took a walk (exercise for the grown ups) and once the were antsy stopped in an arcade (fun for the little ones) to win a few toys. Turned out they weren't too thrilled with the plush hammer and ball I won them and were way more excited to see a stand full of pinwheels outside one of the shops. Of course I had to buy them two after Gavin said "ohhhhhhhhhhhh" when he saw them. This is his new thing. Anything interested to him gets an "ohhhhhhhhhhhh" and it's pretty darn cute. Here they are with their pinwheels:
We had lunch next and then it was on to check out the beach. They went to the beach a few times last year and liked it but they were much younger and not walking yet. I was curious to see how they would react. I LOVE the beach and everything about it so a tiny part of me was nervous they would freak out or something and hate sand, water, sun..etc. Nope, not an issue..they are definitely mine..they loved it, too! The beach even received another standing "ohhhhhhhhhhh" from G;)

And yes, they both tasted the sand at one point or another..yum!
The highlight of my day by far was when we had ice cream. I got them a cup to share and was giving them each their own spoonful for them to feed themselves. I gave Camryn hers first, she took a lick, noticed her brother didn't have any yet and fed him some of hers. I was seriously going to melt right there on the boardwalk. It was SO ADORABLE and one of the best things about having twins. I am starting to really notice how much they love each other and I can't get enough:)
After some ooohs and ahhh's from my Mom and I about how sweet it was that C shared with G on her own, she continued to share with him so I got to get a video clip. She also cracked up everytime she gave him some.

There were about a million things I SHOULD have been doing today but I decided to just work double time tomorrow and go to the beach. Definitely a great decision! The kiddos passed out for a nap within 5 minutes of getting in the car. Can't wait to go back.

It looks like you had a GREAT day. I'm jealous! Your kids are so easy going and so good to each other. They could give some lessons to mine! Can I borrow your mom here once in awhile? lol
