Spring

Today is the first day of Spring and the weather lately has been awesome (we won't talk about the rain coming tomorrow!). The snow is finally gone and we are able to play outside without 9 layers of clothing. Pretty crazy since my last post was less than a month ago and the yard was full of snow. The kids have been loving playing with chalk, playing on the swingset and pretending they are doing different things. Last week we played in the front yard and they walked through the bushes telling me they were in the jungle and just saw a giraffe. I love seeing their little minds working and learning new things.

Something else that has been melting me lately is my sweet boy and his love for his family. Whenever we all sit down to eat together at the table he makes sure to say it's a "family dinner" (or breakfast or lunch). Watching TV at night is "family couch", and if one of us is missing from the couch or table even for a minute he says "ohhhhhhh noooooooo, missing! Where's Daddy (or Mommy)? " Once he has us all together he beams with a huge smile like there is NOWHERE else he'd rather be and says in a quiet little voice "Hi Mommy, Hi Daddy, Hi Camryn." It is seriously adorable and I hope he doesn't stop doing it anytime soon. It's one of those moments I will look back on years from now when he is too big to want to snuggle on the couch with his family.

As for my little girl she has really into puzzles lately. I took out a 24 piece floor puzzle figuring it was something new we could do together since she has been doing some of the other puzzles a lot. As we worked on it we would tell her to do the corners first, look at the picture to see what was missing that she needed to match, try to match the stripes on the shirt, etc. Over the past week or so she's needed less and less coaching and helping with it and today was the first time she was able to do it on her own. She started it last night and had to go to bed so she asked if we could leave the part she has done together. Once she woke up this morning she went right back to it and eventually got it all done. She was sooooo proud of herself and we were loving listening to her as she put it together. "Where is the rest of the cat? Here it is!" "I need the other piece. Here it is." Sniff...I can't believe how big they are getting!!! Who knew a puzzle could make me teary. What can I say, I'm a wuss;)
Just a few random shots from this month:

I am so looking forward to all that the warm weather brings...playing outside, day trips, the beach, vacation, the boardwalk, barbecues...and most of all having the summer off and spending some QT with my kiddos!

So cute with Gavin caring so much for the family. And I'm impressed with Camryn doing a 24 piece puzzle! Wow--we have some catching up to do! I think everyone feels the same about the nicer weather!
